$898 Walmart eBike | Schwinn Sidewinder 250w eBike

$898 Walmart eBike | Schwinn Sidewinder 250w eBike

Walmart is increasingly stocking more and more eBikes. The Schwinn Sidewinder is one of the latest, and possibly the best currently offered at the sub-$900 price point.

After 3 charge cycles and an average range of 23 miles-per-charge, this video is my review of the Schwinn Sidewinder electric bicycle. Overall, I’m impressed with the polished ride of what is in effect a big box budget bike; albeit an electric bike.

See the Sidewinder at Walmart here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Schwinn-Sidewinder-electric-mountain-style-bicycle-26-inch-wheels-7-speeds-black/173683093

Schwinn sent this bike for review, but there is no sponsorship and my opinions are my own and NOT compensated.

  1. Lectric is better

  2. Just buy an Axum and a ebike conversion kit for cheaper

  3. Too much money. Ancheer 500W, 1200-36v. $ 650.

  4. If you see my pfp get off light mode January 10, 2021 @ 10:26 pm

Better off buying an ebike kit and a 200 dollar or less bike. Half the price and you would have throttle.

  5. Like this ,,never thought I would think of buying one till saw this ,,cool

  6. 900 bucks and its pedal assist only?

  7. Ughhh junk

  8. Now it’s cheap at Walmart e-bikes $300

  9. Have you tried the jetson adventure e bike from Costco?
If not could you do a review on that?

  10. Wear your mask plz

  11. William Penn jr. January 10, 2021 @ 10:35 pm

It looks like a regular $200 bike with $250 e bike kit installed.

Hi you do awesome ebike reviews,, can the hub motor be upgraded ?

  13. The voice underneath the Jack in the Box costume… lol

  14. By any chance you would know how to change the brakes on these ?? I have one and I’m so lost on pad changes .

  15. Great review, you never know when you buy online, thanks for your honesty.

  16. $800+ for only 250W motor? Cmon

  17. magic cheeseball January 10, 2021 @ 10:46 pm

No twist throttle is a deal breaker for me

  18. I don’t have money to buy high end bikes, so I always had to get garbage Wal-mart tier bikes. A few years ago, I actually managed to snag a Schwinn bike and it is the best sub $1000 bike in my opinion. It looks like their e-bikes look pretty good for the price, too.

  19. Great review – thanks

  20. Wallmart China crap

  21. Enlightened Idiot January 10, 2021 @ 10:48 pm

Ride1up has way better ebikes for not a lot more money…

  22. Any idea of the range? One guy had a cheap ebike but his range was about 25 miles.

  23. Magnum Ranger is the way to go
    Best bike ever

  24. Who else thinks the Lectric XP for $900 is way better.

  25. Guess it was just a matter of time

  26. Would anyone know the diameter and length of the seat post on this bike? thank you.

  27. YOU ~ ROCK ! !

  28. I just bought the non ebike version of this, curious if I’m able to convert it into an ebike or if it’s even worth it to do so.

  29. I had an old no speed Schwinn beach cruiser that was the most comfortable most reliable smoothest operating slightly big tired bicycle that I have ever owned.

I gave it away to someone.

shortly after that I went to Sears and bought two Schwinn bicycles the new one looked almost exactly like the one I had given away.

one for me one for my girlfriend they were heavier and just plain lousy.

I found out that the old one that I had given away was made in the USA and the two that I bought were made in China and I could not believe the disparity between the two they were almost identical one was smooth running I mean in every way and the other one was actually hard to pedal I couldn’t believe the difference. I sold those two Chinese bikes at a yard sale.

I did a little bit of research and found out that Schwinn actually went out of business and the son started his own high-end bicycle company.

  30. I do really like your to the point videos. I can’t stand when people just add a bunch of useless fluff that are off topic and add nothing to the videos point. Great job. I subbed for you sir.

I buy WalMart mountain bikes all the time. Sure, they weigh 45 pounds, but when you ride them all the time, then switch over to your carbon fiber bike and enter a race, you can fly!

  32. You have to pedal-assist for a $1000, I don’t think so.

  33. whoa this bike is expensive! I have the 2020 ver Ancheer Sunshine and it’s 350w. Granted it’s more heavier (54 vs this bike’s 46) but the price is also 670. Much lower than this bike’s 898!

  34. A store I stay from! Free food? No Thanks, I do not shop at one of the worst cases of American style capitalism purchased in the halls of Congress.

  35. If I could articulate a bike demo as pleasant and clear as you, maybe the people that watch my videos wouldn’t bang there heads against the wall in frustration.😂🤣😂

  36. I know in our local store there is hardly any bikes at all due to the covid epidemic…

  37. Good job

  38. My e scooter has the same size motor 🤦‍♂️

  39. Do your research before buying your E-bike. My wife and I wanted to ride bikes in our retirement years. We live on a slight hill nothing crazy just a small hill and wanted to use the electric bike to help get up the hill on the way home. So we purchased 2 Voltbike Interceptors.
Turns out my wife was not comfortable riding the bike so hers sat in the garage while mine got a couple of rides for the first year. The following year placed the bikes on charge and the next morning unplugged the charger but nothing so I checked the other bike and the same thing.

I contacted and a short conversation Voltbike and they told me the battery packs were not charged during the time period (it was my fault) they sat for the winter and that caused the failure of the packs. Of course, we went back and forth for a very long time with no solution. They wanted to sell me two new battery packs at the cost of 1200.00 dollars and that is without shipping or taxes.

They pawned me off on some guy in China with the pretense of help but that was a waste of time.

So no pack just two bikes in the garage not ridden anymore and life lesson learned, at the cost of over 3000.00 dollars. Pick your vendor carefully or you might end up in the same predicament.

  40. If you’re looking for a mountain bike don’t buy this buy A real mountain bike Hardtail

  41. Kev you like Sondors ebikes?

  42. I bought a Schwinn DSB Hybrid online at Walmart today. It will replace a 20 year old Huffy mountain bike that I bought at Walmart. I dont think Walmart bikes are all that bad for the price. I abused that old Huffy and took it places that I would have never taken a bike I paid 1000.00 for. I doubt I spent 500.00 in 20 years on that bike and would ride at least 75 miles a week for the first 10 years I had it.

  43. I saw bad reviews for Schwinn ebikes.

  44. I bought a 350w bike for 699 on amazon and its dope plus I got throttle

  45. Looks nice, but I guarantee I’d break that bike within a day.

  46. What a rip off that .bike the sun will cook that thing. And it won’t keep a charge. Long… It’s not any kind of meatal that will last on it ..it’s desposable..wast your cash well done on the video for sure .thank you

  47. The newer Schwinn’s got some lousy buyer ratings. If you have to raise the seat to where your hands are lower than it is your nads will get racked before long. That goes for men and women. Any slouched forward position on a bike for long is bad for health.

  48. In the Netherlands these specs are normal for a $2000 bike

How does the Electric Sidewinder 26” compare to an Electric Boundary 29”? Really enjoyed your view of the Sidewinder, but the Boundary may be a better fit, but I’m not a bicycle guy (yet), so I’d love your opinion. Thanks
