Things were very edgy back then I for one often went without underwear.
The Daytona footage was amazing. Multiple world champions competing including Read, Sheene, Roberts etc. Such a shame todays Daytona race does not attract the European riders like in yesteryear.

I remember seeing Mike Hailwood on many occasions. Especially at Cadwell Park when he was a privater after Honda stopped racing. He had the 297cc six cylinder and it could be heard all around the circuit.
There used to be a circuit at Crystal Palace in south london I used to go there as a kid , they used to have terrible accidents , coming into the final corner before the finish straight , there was a wall off railway sleepers painted black and white .plus trees all round the circuit , The bad old days
Mike Hailwood was my hero and always will be..His life taken too soon..He could ride ANY bike on ANY circuit and WIN.
Saved the life of Clay Regazzoni pulling him from his blazing car..Went home and never thought it was important enough to tell his wife..
She only heard about on the news. Again my absolute hero. Awarded the George medal for bravery..

Always find it strange that as soon as full face helmets were made available every rider didn’t switch immediately. I know we don’t like change but most of us prefer not to smash our faces sliding down the road.

I stuck it out for 11 minutes then couldn’t take any more of the diabolical pointless background/foreground racket claiming to be ‘music’, that and the mis-matching of bike exhaust sounds…..particularly the ‘2-stroke’ T

i was a lucky kid seeing the motorcycles in the 70’s, we chased all the superstars for autographs and starred at those beautiful ladies in flared jeans and tshirts…yes i enjoyed this, similar to ‘On Any Sunday’…Magic! 👏🏻😎🇬🇧🇺🇸🏁
OK, this gets my vote for the all-time, best-ever video on youtube!!!. You’ve got those gorgeous 70’s fairings, the IOM, 70’s prog rock for background music, and finally, you even have "Mike the Bike" (may he rest in peace) in bell-bottoms. What’s not to like?

Agostini was good but for so many years his only competition was his teammate because Honda and Yamaha pulled out of GP racing and the MV Agusta was so much better than everything else, that is why I do not think he is the GOAT.

Awesome. I remember watching these guys growing up. Hit my late teens and raced motocross for over a decade. I never made it to the big leagues but damn, I had a hell of a good time! (Minus the multiple broken bones part. Just the price you pay.) And my ’01 GXSR1000, I’d hit 140mph on it on my way to work. I can’t imagine going that fast on those ’70s bikes. Motorcycle racers are just a different breed of people. My whole family thought i was crazy and I wasn’t even pro level. Lol
That was Fun!
How can you not like this, it brings back many memories, I saw Hailwood in the Isle of Man a few times. And a lot of off road champions racing in England…. Great….

Bike sounds are all mixed up. MVs sounding like Manx Nortons and 2 strokes. Sort of thing the BBC used to do in news reports.
