E-BIKES DO NOT SUCK | My E-Genius First Ride Vlog

Hey guys!

So finally I can show my new E-Genius! Now this thing is unbelievably sick, it’s fast uphill, rips downhill and you have the biggest smile on your face when you’re riding. Before you rip it I recommend that you go and try one! They are genuinely fun!!!

Scotty why don’t you wear riding gloves? 🤔

  2. Don’t get me wrong, I think that e-bikes are a wonderful asset for people with disabilities or that normally can’t ride trails. I just recently was at a bike park called skypark though where you ride to the top yourself and earn the downhill, there I saw a little shredder about only 9 years old riding an e-bike with his brother who was about the same age. I personally think that’s a little ridiculous because at age 9 I was riding everything myself and really appreciating everything more. I personally don’t think that people who have the energy and skill to ride a normal bike should be on an e-bike because they don’t experience the workout on the climb and won’t develop into stronger riders.

  3. I’m close to 50, kids and work get in the way of regular exercise and I’m just not able to stay as fit as my twenties. This is when the ebike comes in. I can go a few weeks without exercise and then bam, I’m hitting the old trails like a 20 year old again. I love it.

  4. Nice paid advertisement…

  5. im 50plus and spent yrs stuck in the house with anxiety, but in my youth loved biking , now i can get out again but unfit i got a ebike so its fun again happy chappy again

  6. Ebikes do suck.

  7. The dancing Alien April 3, 2021 @ 11:21 pm

At last decent rock steady video footage
As good as a steadycam perfect.

  8. Nice to see an ebike used to ride something that couldn’t be done without it rather than just can’t be bothered to do without it 👍. Shame about the battery.

  9. Another great eBike video simply ruined by the end of it when the battery goes flat. Ebike manufacturers need to pay more attention to the distance traveled not only to the bikes best look. I’ve just got back from Brecon Beacons in Wales riding "the Gap" etc doing daily 35-45 miles with very steep hills and still having some life left on the end of each day in my 20Ah (1000Wh) eBike battery. Peace ❣️❣️❣️

I have no problem with e-bikes in general, it must be tremendous fun! I just hope to never have one coming uphill on a SINGLE-track…

  11. I was a die hard hater of E-bikes until I tried one. Now my quick after work 30km ride transformed into 45km of fun even in the steep climbs, at 20km/h of average speed.

People don’t want to understand that unless you’re a lazy ass, the physical effort remains the same, you just go faster.

I’ll take the criticism though, with a big smile on my face. 😉

  12. Can someone link me a song starting at 6:00?

  13. If you lived in a city like Porto, full of hills, ups and downs you would understand why some people like ebikes

  14. If i remember correctly the „e for easy“ were your words

  15. Now if you want to REALLY "level up" your ride you have to try your E-genius with a 29" front wheel. Trust me, you’ll never go back!

  16. ArthurDentZaphodBeeb April 3, 2021 @ 11:32 pm

    Fantastic production. Excellent ride.

  17. Landscape is a stunner

  18. harcoremassive April 3, 2021 @ 11:34 pm

This is why i chose the focus jam 2, Due to the tec battery add on, I very much doubt you would of had power issues with the focus jam or focus sam, Got to admit though that bike you have is a lovely looking bike 👍

  19. that looks mega

  20. Matt Leembruggen April 3, 2021 @ 11:36 pm

Please do a video on why u left gmbn😢😢

I’m not a fan of Ebikes but that doesn’t give me any rights to vilify those who are, as long as they are enjoying themselves and getting out& having fun on the trails who am I to tell them not to. If someoneovertakes me on an Ebike I’ll quite happily say hello and chat to a fellowrider even if I’m struggling to breathe :).
I ride XC/Enduro/DH and Road… and may in future come around and buy an Ebikefor my stable just for something different, also I’m sick to death of groups of people telling other groups they should be like them. Motor assisted long travel does indeed sound tempting as it could open up much more for me to ride, personally don’t see too much value in short travel XC style Ebikes but if that’s what people want let them IMO. Interesting well put together Video.. Subscribed.

  22. I love anything which hardcore enthusiasts hate. E bike all the way.

  23. Base Fitness Personal Training April 3, 2021 @ 11:42 pm

Great video. The route looks totally awesome. Keep up the good work.

  24. I rode my 1st e-MTB today, it was a 2017 Trek Powerfly, great fun, almost too easy. I still prefer my Trek Stache, but it would be fun to rent an e-bike once in a while, especially on vacation.

  25. Great vid, just bought my first ebike and its great… Getting a proper outing next week, 4 days in the Lake district. So will see how it handles on trails I have ridden over the last 25 years starting on a rigid Marin with canty brakes. Can`t wait!!

  26. "it’s fast uphill"… well no kidding, its a moped. Lame attempt at a commercial

  27. how much are you paid to say they don’t suck?

  28. Aleksandar Gospić April 3, 2021 @ 11:47 pm

Ahhh, this is why I adore e bikes, opening whole new world of possibilities and joy, going to places where I couldn’t on a standard bike! Next month I’m getting Scott Genius E 900, can’t wait, I’ll even put it in my bed the first night haha

  29. Outstanding! Thanks you for such an amazing insight. You’ve helped me make my mind up…… I’m buying the Scott Genius eRide 900 Tuned. Thanks for the great video. Cheers Raymondo (Time to trade in my Genius 750).

  30. Prohibited in my area to ride on the trail (fire roads only). Cool technology but not for everyone, not me anyways.

  31. What’s the finishing song?

  32. Muhammad Usama April 3, 2021 @ 11:54 pm

Have You Ever Been To "Naran Kaghan" (PAKISTAN)???

  33. Guillermo Hoffmann April 3, 2021 @ 11:56 pm

mate!.. that E-Bike is sooo much fun! . Great one Scotty!..

  34. Scott u don’t need a ebike tbh

  35. Great video. But there is something wrong with your mic. It has this constant low beep tone.

  36. LuisManuelHdez April 3, 2021 @ 11:59 pm

Ebikes are awesome and this is one of the good ones.

  37. Hamilton Magrath April 3, 2021 @ 11:59 pm

Can you please do a garage tour/bike checks

  38. E-bike should have a place in every cyclists arsenal. I love having the choices what to ride on any given day.

  39. daniel charlie fernandez April 4, 2021 @ 12:01 am

only people that have not tried one say it sucks

  40. AWESOME VIDEO, DUDE 👍
you’re really changing my opinion on e-bikes!
can’t say that I hated them earlier, I rather thought it’s something useless and made for those reach lazy dummies, but damn, you’re opening absolutely new horizons with this bike and that’s so cool 😮🔥
so yeah, e-bikes don’t suck, haters do)
still it doesn’t mean that I’ll get one for myself 😂

  41. Im pretty sure every e bike hater would happily accept a brand new 10 grand e bike

  42. Ebike haters need to look up Luddite on wiki 😉

  43. Love my ebike, I’m 54 now but go out with the lads between 21 and 30 and I stay with them all the way. We always pass people pushing bikes up insane hills cycling passed them. Great video

  44. Suck bro

  45. Brilliant man

  46. No gloves and no glasses.
    Dude!! WTF ??

  47. excellent .pls mention bgm?

  48. Thers a couple of guys at work who have e- mtbs, both are over weight by around 3 stone, but they claim ebikes require the same rider input, i rode with one guy and he sat at 15 mph in eco the whole commute and was bragging how he kept up with me, by there very nature e bikes assist, good for people that need a little help, massive fun in full assist but please just be honest and say iam not fit enough to ride a regular bike, we live in a world where people will take the easier option, would i buy one, yes for outright fun, but i would keep my regular bike for fitness

  49. Szabolcs Jakab April 4, 2021 @ 12:11 am

what about the range? not even a word about the range of the biggest battery pack. I bet it’s well below 100k, I’d estimate a maxium of 60/70k (with 2000 m altitude climb) with a lighter rider …. and a trained rider rides without any problems above 100k and 3000 m altitude difference …

  50. Peter Ackerley April 4, 2021 @ 12:11 am

Love the video, not far away from me in Fife. What helmet is that you were wearing? Looked nice and like but still got a trial style to it. Keep up the awesome video’s Scotty!
