E-bikes on the Thule Easy Fold XT 2 bike rack. Made specifically for heavy E-Bikes.

I purchased this rack 8 months ago and this is what I’ve learned. Great rack, good quality, and hits all of my expectations. The rack has a heavier load capacity than most regular bike racks. It also folds into a VERY compact unit.

  1. Do you think it would be ok to hold a hyper scorpion (90lbs) and a rad mini step thru (60lbs)? Also, any issues w a step thru bike, do you need a crossbar to lock in in place?

  2. Can you say wall-e?

  3. Very nice, informative review. Hope to order one these racks soon for our two Rad Rovers.

  4. Another great video thank you. That answered all my questions.

  5. Thank you for the demo Sir.

  6. You’ve done this before. Rock solid presentation. Don’t stop, you say all the essentials

You do know 2 Lectric Bike XP’s would fold and fit nicely in the back of your SUV. LOL

  8. This rack is definitely not a product for women, or small or weaker men. The bike almost fell off the rack when he was trying to secure the first one. also, I don’t know how one can tilt back 200 lbs of bicycle to open the trunk and then lift them back. This strong man can do it.. But I dont know if this (or any ebike) can be used by anyone who is not able to just lift a 100 pound bicycle… I may buy it, however for long trips and vacations… I JUST CHECKED THE PRICE…. $800!!!! ARE THEY NUTS?!!!! I AM NOT BUYING THIS THING!! I am riding my ebike where ever I go. A rack should not cost more than half of the cargo….

  9. Great review. I received my Thule easyfold XT 2. I see they offer fat tire straps . Did you have to change the original straps that came with the rack?

  10. How does a Rad Step Through connect as there is no cross bar? is there a option/attachment?

  11. the arms on my brand new bike rack do not click when tightened. tried putting them in the other key position and still do not…thoughts?

  12. Thank you, now I know what rack not to buy.

  13. Great walk thru. Very appreciated. I have similar setup – radmini for the wife and a juiced CrossCurrent for myself. I will be purchasing this carrier. Thanks

  14. Excellent video, very informative, thanks for posting it.

  15. Nice currently looking for ebike rack for my fat tires ebike, road bike and mountain bike. Thinking of getting another ebike in the future and this video is very informative thanks and nice video.

  16. Great job and nice video. Thanks for your attention to the details

  17. Great video Tom, what is the Chrome Honey thing that saved you money?

  18. Ebikes are in the mail and I am looking for a rack, Thanks for your video that is very clear and explains everything very informative. This is the rack I need, both bikes will weigh 68lbs each. One great big thanks.

  19. Thank you, great presentation

  20. Good video. If your bikes touch each other on the rack or have close points I always use an old inner tube. Flexible, wrap around easily, long to cover larger bits and easy to tie off and weather proof. Just a thought.

  21. looks like complete rubbish and its $779.00? hollywood bike rack is way nicer

  22. Best deal I could find was $622 at E-Trailer. Not as good as your deal though!

  23. what about brake and turn signals

  24. Dr. David Patterson January 28, 2021 @ 8:18 pm

What about the rear lights of the car being covered up by the bikes? Are those two red things on the rack just reflectors?

  25. Dude I’d be nervous

  26. Nicely done very informative. Excellent – you could be a product manager for Thule LOL.

  27. Thank you

  28. Yep.. Batteries always ride in the car

  29. THE VILLAGES FLORIDA NEWCOMERS January 28, 2021 @ 8:23 pm

    Great tutorial! Thank you!

  30. Unfortunately the Easyfold XT does not fit most Ebikes – the wheel straps are too short and the mounting arms are not long enough. Its a shame because its a nice idea – just not properly designed.

  31. My concern is getting the bike onto the rack. Ebikes are heavy. The ramp looked tiny. And, I would be loading by myself. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

  32. Hi how does it hold up on the highways in your opinion above 50 mph? Thanks

  33. $700 is too much to pay for a rack that requires a selection of rags to be stuffed between bikes to prevent damage. It looks like they spent more time engineering it to work well in storage rather than in use. It looks like keeping the bike on the rack could be a struggle until the first wheel is strapped down. I think I’ll pass on this one. REALLY good video, though. The level of detail in the video makes it easier to decide whether or not to keep this rack on my list of candidates.

  34. Vladimir Oboukhov January 28, 2021 @ 8:26 pm

Is there a way to put a lock on it/the hitch?

  35. We just purchased 2 ebikes and were concerned about the weight. After listening to your presentation, you reassured us that this is the exact bike rack we need to buy.

  36. Injured TableTennisPlayer January 28, 2021 @ 8:27 pm

    Great job.

  37. Have you ever been pulled over due to obstruction of the license plate?

  38. Thanks for the great video and review! Which Topeak rack do you have on your Rad Power ebike? How do you like it?

  39. Great video, Tom! I just bought this bike rack for my European e-bike that I moved back with me from Amsterdam. I’m struggling with figuring out how to get the clamp to securely lock to the frame, which is sounds like you had to tinker with too. Any suggestions on which parts of the frame are the best to use?

  40. Thank you for the great info but I was able to cross this rack off the list for the bikes being too close. Thule XT2 Pro for me.

  41. YOU GOT TO BE NUTS TO SPEND $1100 ON A BIKE RACK

  42. Great review!

  43. Don’t you worry about them getting wet?

  44. No one reads the descriptions. You can find the Amazon links organized here: https://evolutionarytom.com

  45. will this work with theThule T2 Pro XT 2 Bike Add-on

  46. This rack sucks!!! i got it for my two kenevo’s to to replace my standard 2" thule platform rack. Super flimsy!! It was a downgrade from my previous rack even thought it cost 250$ more!! could not use the clamps because the head doesnt pivot. Clamping bar always in the way and you cant fold it out of the way!! Tire straps also suck. You have to balance the bike with one hand and then try to strap the tire with the other hand. Also the tire trays are super cheap plastic and barely held my 2.8 tires. Got a new 1 Up rack much much better!! Dont get the stupid thule easyfold!!!

  47. DANIEL ALEXANDER January 28, 2021 @ 8:46 pm

Great review with great advice here 👉 @8:29.
Will definitely look into this type of bike rack!

  48. I’m shopping for a rack for my Rad Rover and this was super helpful. Thanks!

  49. got mine Sunday…they were not available in BC and was on a wait list in Calgary Alberta. Paid total $1049. The did not come with the longer tie down straps, for the fat tires, so thats about another $100 for 4 straps for the two bikes..drove to Calgary to pick it up. They wanted $300 to ship. Sadly did not look on Amazon only at Thule dealers.

  50. Thanks. Does the arm holding the bike frame scratches the paint job?
