Commenters here call him the Musk of the ebike. I used to call him the pope of the ebike, haha. I am in ebike kit business in Brazil, brand Fitzz, and for me he has been one of the best places for me to learn, together with endless sphere… Nice person community wise. C est un grand monsieur.

  3. This video is GOLD!!

  4. *You can tell he is Gay*

  5. If this eBike thing ever runs out of charge, I’d gladly subscribe to your ‘Tech Talk Movers and Shakers’ interview channel. A brilliant job Chase!

  6. The Elon musk of e-bikes !!! Great! And excellent video, thx so much !!!

  7. Such a great and informative video. Exactly what I was looking for. Would love an update video in 2020.

  8. One reason I found NOT to use "regen" is heat. If a direct drive hub tends to get hot going up hills, I found "regen" best left off. The direct drive hub tended not to get overheated as soon if I did not use "regen". Have things changed where that is not true? Great videos! Thx. Barry 馃檪

  9. He makes a stupid argument that E-bikes are so much cleaner then cars they should be used daily. Anybody who lives in a big city knows they can’t. As soon as you park your bike… it will either be snatched or parts taken off it. Thieves are very cleaver people. They steal your whole bike, or your mirrors, or your extra tube bag, or your wheel, or your trip computer, or your seat. Unless you can park the e-bike in your office, leave it at home.. Don’t let it out of your sight!

  10. Holy cow ,that guy is a Genius.

I鈥檓 looking to get my hands on a new landyachtz deck soon and that thing looks absolutely beautiful.

  16. He seems so enthusiastic and passionate about what he does. It’s great that he was willing to devote so much time to sharing his knowledge.

  17. Nice video I watched and and listen to everything like it’s a movie thanks very much and how do you hack the bosch battery

  18. Great video to listen too, I have been working on ebikes for 20 years hence my interest. conversion kits i feel is best and so simple to trace any faults

  19. good for sleeping

  20. I would love to see weekly updates from Grin because they are revolutionizing this space and I think its about time, Great video Court…

  21. I’m chuffed that people like this exist in the world. I know very little about batteries and electrics and while I have just parachuted into the ebike world it’s good to know some brainiac has been brainstorming a clear path for my next passion. I hope average people don’t get mad that he’ll probably be very rich one day(if not already) and blame that on slavery of the past and white privilege. Or the gender wage gap. Ironic that libtards would support this homegrown business.

  22. Justin and his team really helped me get over the mystery of ev bike components for projects. I am now researching for my 3rd rear wheel drive balloon tire bike build.

  23. Very, very useful, thank you!

  24. I totally agree w/ stereotypedfilms鈥檚 comment, best 1:44:11 minutes I鈥檝e spent in a long time, too. So grateful, Court, for this video. Gratitude. Inspirational, totally. Science. Justin. Court. Haw鈥檃a. 馃惥馃挮

  25. Mark H Hendricks March 11, 2021 @ 11:18 pm

    Loving this interview.

  26. Got a Crystalyte kit from Grin about 10 years ago. It never worked properly and these people left me high and dry.

  27. I don’t know why autoplay is showing me this 5 years later, but I’m glad it did. Justin clearly has incredible knowledge and passion for this tech and hearing him go in depth about so much is a great listen. Would love to see more content like this in 2021.

  28. It’s a shame this vid was so short I could listen to Justin all day he’s the Musk of E-bikes.

  29. 20:23 it is called a "battery aging" and is a chemical process happening into the battery that depends on state of charge (voltage) and the ambient temperature. The higher the voltage and temperature, the quicker an aging happens to the battery. As a result, it loses its capacity.
Absolutely priceless interview! The amount of information and its quality… I would say, DENSITY, is so high. And that attitude! The eyes are shining out of the depth you all are into this field and mouth is too slow to deliver the length of the message you have!
Great thanks to you all, guys!

  30. Whoa, and Wow and…more of this spirit. The ethos just falls right in with, I think most people. Wonderful, just really terrific. I can’t say enough about Justin an his vision that continues. The world is better for it. No doubt about it. I am moved. There may be hope for us yet.

  31. Lonestar Laurel March 11, 2021 @ 11:23 pm

This is fantastic. Maybe extract a few 10-20 minute segments to make more clickable videos.

  35. yes, yes, yeah and wow!!! thanks court that was amazing , I’m going shopping there very soon.excellent!

  36. Justin is very smart i think hub motors are the best

  37. I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary, and learned so much. Having converted several bikes I appreciate the problems Justin and his crew are solving. Given, it is 5 years later, it was interesting to peruse their website to see the products being developed (in the video) now offered for sale. Also, they’re moving/expanding to an even larger facility. Thank you, Court!

  38. Thank U Justin and team for endless sphere.

  39. Absolutely brilliant interview. What a guy. His passion is infectious. Thanks for all the informative content. Keep it up.

  40. A tiny piece of paradise. It’s a pity you’re 6,000 miles away. . . . I want two of those motors. Wound with silver coils? Oh, and thanks so much.

  41. Justin is a very clever person and very interesting to listen too this was an excellent insight in to this mans brilliant ideas 馃挕

  42. Machines and Things March 11, 2021 @ 11:36 pm

  43. I鈥檓 feeling like I鈥檓 in a masterclass with this video. So much amazing info, please visit Grin again soon! This was amazing, thank you.

  44. 1:24:40 I couldn’t resist not to comment here the DD BLDC ebike motor cooling approach I just found on Youtube –> https://youtu.be/EZELVYpDbVk?t=892 truly, completely DIY and just insanely geeky approach and visual look – just bare coils and let the side wind do the job 馃榾 馃榾

  45. wow I’m impressed with this entire operation!

  46. Grilling with Jay March 11, 2021 @ 11:37 pm

Justin really answered all the pressing needs encountered in the e-bike industry. Foremost holding manufacturers to their advertised standards lol. Justin鈥檚 discussion regarding battery performance was quite on point. Amazing person indeed! Here鈥檚 the kind of person who should be leading this industry. Grin is on my radar 100%! That鈥檚 a company who have their business set straight. Bravo!!!

  47. Thank you so much! This is one of the most educational videos I’ve seen about ebike components. I’ll keep Grin on my radar!

  48. Listening top someone with a high IQ makes time fly! Thanks and long live GRIN Tech

  49. Chris Palmisano March 11, 2021 @ 11:38 pm
