Once the battery kicks in do you need to still pedal.?
I bought one of these about a month ago……..and i love it.
I don’t ride it for fun, just to work and back mainly but when i have to ride it, i do enjoy it.
I have a friend who works at Gtech and he told me to never buy their bikes. Poor quality of some products and the bikes are so overpriced it isn’t worth it (his words). The only positive I can give is that the bike looks nice, but I still think it is cheaply built compared to other bikes on the market in same price range.
Zaraz przypomnia艂o mi si臋 jak pakowali艣my Tw贸j rower gdy pierwszy raz wyje偶d偶a艂e艣 do Anglii 馃檪 Pozdro kuzyn!
Great review! I’m interested in this bike but unsure about it having only 1 gear. How fast can you comfortably peddle after the motor shuts off at 15mph?
Once you commute to work on an ebike and get used to it, it鈥檚 impossible to travel by car. It鈥檚 so much more calming and almost spiritual as you float along in bliss, and reaching work feeling absolutely brilliant is the ultimate bonus…………..and? All at a cheap price, no wear and tear of a car to worry about, no high fuel costs, no sitting frustratingly in traffic jams and of course no insurance, or tax ( win win win) but I do think if they had set the limit to 20mph it would have made it perfect 馃憣
Good review on the Gtech, I think you’re speaking of disc brakes, they look cool, but I don’t think they would make much of a difference.
hiow about a kids trailer on the back? 15mph sounds ok with kids trailer
Man Buns, the millennials Mullet
i got one and the range is so bad i gave up on it .when the battery runs our its so hard to peddle total waste of money
I bought one of these (second hand) and generally like it. I’ve recently
been commuting about 10.5 miles into London on it. This journey takes
about an hour and uses most of the battery up, so I charge it up at work
for the journey home again. Disk brakes would be nice, but really not
essential. My main issue is that with no gears, it’s impossible to ride
it fast. Sure the motor helps a lot starting off and up the hills, but
on the flat it should be possible to ride faster even after the motor
cuts out at the legal powered speed limit. The Gates carbon drive belt
is a great feature, so it’d be great to keep this and have some hub
gears too, 5 maybe. Then maybe the hub motor would have to be on the
front wheel instead? If Gtech every want to bring out another version of
this or a higher-end model, this would be the way to go I think. In
short I think as it is, this bike is good value at second hand prices,
but I really wouldn’t pay the full new price 拢1K GBP for it.
when i had an electric bike i left it in the same gear all the time. when you pedal at the right cadence the motor is doing the work for you so why need to change gear? its an electric motor.
Good review
Great review
Czesc Maciek, to naprawde fajne video -tak sie sklada ze pracuje dla gtech 馃槈 chetnie podziele sie z nimi twoja opinia po moim malym reaserch`u nt ebike w sieci. pozdrawiam serdecznie.
Good review mate, watched the latest update 1st though. Both good.
Liked the police siren as soon as you went electric at 6m15! Good video and makes me think I want one.
About the bike and the company. Price: 拢995. Shipping: within 2 business days. Returns and refunds: within 2 weeks if you are not satisfied. Customer service: 5 stars.
Where are u from mate?
That smile at 6:11!
Irritating faux American.
Thank you for this!! I鈥檓 also looking for my 1st electric bike, I have spinal arthritis, I鈥檝e tried riding a road bike but the pain was too much for the 10 miles to work. With this though, it looks like it鈥檚 light enough to pedal without assistance, and then switch it in for that last-mile uphill home. Thank you
Great review. I am tempted – contemplating a longer commute and this could do the job.
Hey mate, just to let you know the reason it’s capped at 15mph is once it goes above you need a license 馃檪 Good review though!
this guy, considering his quality of content is very under rated. just subscribed. keep up the work man
Nice review Us aliens have hover bikes
You primative earthlings need to up your game
Hee Hee.
Just do that as a basic brake upgrade and you鈥檒l be much happier.
Replace the whole brake set up with new callipers, brake levers and pads. That Tektro stuff really is the bottom of the bargain bucket kit you can pick up in the cheap section at Halfords that they put on their 拢150 bikes. Cheap materials, rubbish pads, bad springs, flimsy naff levers and callipers made out of the cheapest metals and plastics etc etc. Those brakes probably cost 拢20 for the whole set brand new to give you an idea of how good they are long term (even short term).
No need for disc on a basic commuter bike like this, just better quality calliper or V brakes than the ones Gtech use on this bike.
Any local bike shop will be able to upgrade you to something half decent for 拢50-拢70 ball park from Shimano plus labour (or do yourself as it鈥檚 not too hard).
The difference will be night and day.
That little upgrade will transform the experience for you.
Many thanks for posting this – very useful review.
I have a GTech battery vacuum cleaner and the battery lasts a long, long time. I live in a small apartment and it’s very easy to manage and it’s small to store.
Why so expensive lol and ya gotta build it lmfao
I am overweight, 105kg. And my route to office has really steep hills. Will this bike be good for me? Please suggest
One of the better videos on YT. Very informative………
Nice bike.
Electric Bike – smart move! This should save you some money; as well, you can get around so much easier. I like how the battery looks on this bike. I will check out this company. Many electric bikes look clunky – this one looks nice!
Good review I enjoyed it.very realistic . Sensible view 馃憤 thanks
Gtech ebike vs Electra Loft Go 8i…which is best? What do you think?? If found an Electra second hand for 900 pouns from 2,000.
Nice review, I tried one of these recently and liked it but 2 things stopped me buying,
1 there is a slight delay for the motor to kick in after you pedal which makes riding in traffic not so good.
2 the battery capacity is only 5AH these 聽batteries will loose about 10% a year so after a few years the range will be low.
If they could sort those things out the Gtech would be outstanding.
You guys aren’t going to have babies ?
I want this bike!
sold built in Halfords now
The paper chain looks suspect
congratulations for the picture & the frame , actually you chose a very nice frame , and the picture is very very beautiful wish you both a very happy life filled with love.
and congratulations for the new bike , or the e-bike to be accurate . Actually this type of bikes is not available in country I live in and it is very costly to buy it through the internet , but I’ve read about it in the internet , thanks a lot for making this review for the bike.
They’re getting better but the 15.5mph limit kills them as a viable commuting option.
We don’t seed speed machines but bikes capable of 22mph with a more powerful motor for hill climbing would change the industry.
By all means make cycle (not motorbike) helmets compulsory and I’m happy to pay for insurance so long as the infrastructure to offer it at a reasonable price without dirty great number plates can be sorted out.
All the Best Mr. Macej for your new bike.. God Bless you
Thanks for the review. It helped me decide whether to buy oneof these bikes.
Awwwww mate. I just loved this video, and subscribed also. I am looking for a bike than can "Help" my 59 year old bones "up the hill". I have a number of high power motorcycles – and they get my heart pumping too – but not is a physical way馃榿 . . I did see this bike a year or so ago but I am in Cairo, retiring back to the UK in just over a week. I also have a number of very close Norwegian friends that I have worked with for the last 23 years on my overseas adventure – so you guys ticked a lot of boxes for me. Love your videos – and will watch more – and I am now off to have a look on the GTech site 馃憤. Cheers mate. Paul
great great review…. and great edition and quality… thanks, my brother!
At last – a down to earth review that’s really helpful. Thanks.
Only thing is a Carven belt strong enough
my electric bike slows down say when theres about 2 cells of power left before i charge the battery? is this normal?
