  1. Nothing beats spiked stands. You get the same results with two large dictionaries.

  2. Video was helpful, thank you. BTW, I love Thom Yorke’s Eraser album desktop theme 🙂 Great music taste. Cheers

  3. Pads won’t really help those m-audio’s.. They just sound boring to start with.

  4. Clever application of foam, not sure if that set up would be worth 25 to me be clever nonetheless.

I can’t help but notice the head phones in the final shot. Do you preffer the audio on your head set of the desktop speakers?

  5. hi.. you prefer this m audio or edifier?

I always used milk crates for speaker stands back in the day. They held the heaviest of speakers and put everything at the right height.

Bruv just wanted to point out you have the pads the wrong way round lol , I bought mine from China on ebay for £5 ($7) delivered to the UK cool video though

  8. Which is better:
    1. Foam with speakers on the desk
    2. Stands with the speakers off the desk
    3. Short stands on the desk with speakers
    4. Stands with speakers off the desk with foam in-between stand and speaker.
    ????

  9. I made my own 4" tall risers, with foam isolating discs. The risers are acoustically dead solid wood with filler and painted gloss black. They put the tweeter just above ear level, and decouple the woofer from the desktop.

This is just some gimmick, the difference in frequency response is due to the speaker sitting higher/lower and not due to the pads. The pads only help to not carry the vibrations forward. With that said the pads does not improve the sound by isolation but because they raise the speakers higher up.

If the improvement isn’t measurable then it’s tough to overcome the placebo effect.

  12. My edifier are already angled

  13. For me its yamaha hs8 with the sub hs8s

  14. great video man i might get these when i upgrade my speakers down the road

  15. nice clean video! funny tho ur playing with headphones on

  16. Nice vid,
Can I ask what keyboard is that ?

  17. Great demo

  18. yoga blocks are cheaper and do the same. I still prefer proper stands, work and look better.

  19. In my experience these kind of foam pads don’t do that much to isolate. They do a good job of raising and angling the speakers though.

  20. Would this effect my neighbours from upstairs in a good way

  21. Nice setup 🙂 love garfield on your desk 😀

  22. nice desk, is it real wood?

Isolation Pads for PC(1")?? 1/4 wood under a Game stream the fans and power supply fans vibrates the table think it would help?

Great video and execution of presenting knowledge and insight. I know it takes time to produce and edit videos like this. Thanks for taking the time to do so! Keep up the great work!

  25. I bought some "Universal Vibro-Pads" that are just about identical to yours for £25 (GBP) and although to be honest I didn’t notice an improvement in sound quality, my son no longer complains about the sound of my bass carrying to his bedroom upstairs and disturbing him, which was the reason I bought the isolation pads in the first place.

  26. Great video, easy to get through and very informative

  27. Great video – looks like a great way to improve speaker quality with little outlay!

  28. The sound difference you are probably hearing is the sound not bouncing off the surface it is sitting on with it raised and angled

    Nice, I must try it

  30. A box of sand is a wonderful decoupler.

  31. Great review! Vary informative but succinct. Would you recommend foams over spike insulators for better sound quality?

  32. Wow I’m glad you made this video! I’ve been looking for something like this. These look solid and for a very affordable price. Thank you!
