Bought these exact ones the 8’s generation 4’s a few weeks back. After breaking them in, I can confirm these sound brilliant! Real crisp sound quality with lovely bass. Highly recommend them!

Bax music are doing these for £189 each at the moment by the way. Not sure for how long though?

Also I’ve found the speaker grills don’t seem to be released for the 8’ generation 4’s just yet..

  2. I have KRK Rokit 6 and they are awesome speakers..

I picked up a pair of 8 G4’s brand new for $350. Very happy

  8. SuperPussyFinger May 4, 2021 @ 1:06 am

Do they emit an audible hiss when idle?

  9. Sergey Melnik May 4, 2021 @ 1:08 am

Ive only been using studio monitors for a little over 5 years and never liked the sound of the krks Ive heard. However I read about these G4s and went to listen to them at 3 different guitar centers. I listened to the 5, 7, and 8s. I also listened to all the monitors they had there and the G4s were easily my favorite. Most people will say the yamahas are the best guitar center has. But all the times Ive listened to yamahas I just cant get into them. They just sound so sterile like theyre missing lower midrange. The krks on the other hand just sound rich yet tight and clean on the low end. No more boosted lows and highs like the older g3s. Ive also seen a couple frequency graphs and they are no less flat than the yamahas or jbl lsr305s. The generation 2 jbls at the store were too bright for me. The adam A7x had boosted upper midrange. I really liked the adam T7V. Much more neutral midrange over the A7x but still overall a cold sounding speaker. The tweeter just didnt sound like it blended with the midrange that well like the krks. I also heard a pair of red coned BX8s and didnt care for them. Too overall midrange forward. Last monitors I listened to were the Sterling 5 inch and I really liked them. I think for most people these speakers would be too laid back. But I really loved it. A few years ago they had a pair of Mackie XR624s and I liked those more than anything else in the store too. I would love to compare the rp7g4 and xr624s because they are my current choice for replacement of my current monitors but currently Im leaning towards the KRKs. They really focused on making them flat, their tweeter is kevlar which I have never seen done and sound amazing and the switch do dsp which I believe is superior for the blending of the drivers.

I bought a pair of RP8 G4 *before* I watched this video, I really thought I couldn’t get more excited.

  11. I’m actually using some krk rockit g2 to mix and I think I’ll pass to these one

  12. behind illusion May 4, 2021 @ 1:12 am

just bought these 8s, cant try em yet, as need an interface, but yh im a little amateur with monitors, but very excited to use them, they are chunky and heavy, feel so good, got a foam pad on the bottom too. I sort of wish they where not as long thats all, but the 8s really look the part and feel expensive, plus from what ive heard the sound testing is very accurate and real. the front logo is back lit too.

Man i need a dubstep or jungle test on these…

  13. chris12321222 May 4, 2021 @ 1:13 am

These things are legit. Sound quality amazing. I have the G4 5”s and you can tell the difference between audio quality between music, commercials, and tv shows. Something I never knew was possible.

  14. Danielle King May 4, 2021 @ 1:13 am

Oh the rubbish i practiced on.Monitors came much later

  17. jimmy neutron May 4, 2021 @ 1:17 am

I recently got the Rokit 7 G4, has anyone experimented with both G4 and G3 and which do you prefer? The G4 doesn’t seem too accurate to sound, elements are tampered and don’t sound the same.. I listen to very bass-y electronic music and they don’t seem to manage it well keeping it clear (bass) & true to the original sound

  18. panitos liou May 4, 2021 @ 1:17 am

whats going rong. why any one put some fucking music to listen music?

  19. KRK uses hygroscopic compound to hold speaker’s electronics together (from vibration damage). But because it’s hygroscopic, it’s corrode the circuits in a year of two? Did they solved this or programmed retirement still in place?

  20. Vince Watson May 4, 2021 @ 1:18 am

KRK’s sound great yes but they are not anywhere near good enough to mixdown accurately in a studio, put them through Sonarworks and you will get a shock at the curves…..for playback and DJing, sure.

  21. Where can you even buy these? Terrible we site ..in the uk it links to a site which doesn’t sell them

  22. Juan Ramirez May 4, 2021 @ 1:19 am

man i wish the yellow wasn’t there …

  23. Hey Great review. I am looking at monitors for my home DJ setup and my choice is between the 7” G4 or the Adam Audio T7V. Which would you recommend? Thanks

  24. Digiphex Electronics May 4, 2021 @ 1:21 am

Yamaha is far better an I am coming from years of using Rokit.

  25. Charles Fichter May 4, 2021 @ 1:21 am

Does anyone knows if the app is working with the old rokits?

  26. Simon Turner May 4, 2021 @ 1:23 am

I’m looking to get speakers for a home disco playing variety of styles including dance / house. Room size 3m by 6m. Should I get these or some small PA speakers eg Behringer b115d?

  27. Ondrej Podlucky May 4, 2021 @ 1:25 am

I have Rokit 6 g1 almost 10 years now, and I am very happy with them. Im no sound engineer, just an average user, I listen to music, playing guitar through Headrush Gigboard, playing PC games or wathing YT videos, they never let me down. If they ever go bad, I just buy newer generation 😉 Haters gonna hate and I dont care 😀

  28. I have them they are insane for producing and djing

  29. Kuldar Leement May 4, 2021 @ 1:30 am

First of all – how someone can hate the speaker in the first place OMEGALUL HATE

  30. So is this for small room production or djing, or both?

  31. I’ve just brought the rokit 8 g4 and am having low sound issues and no bass :/

Has anyone else had this issue?

  32. You know Mojaxx. I really notice when it’s you on these videos. I hardly watch any of those with those other blokes… but when it’s a Mojaxx video guaranteed I watch till the end. Even when I’m not that interested in the kit I still pay attention to what’s being shown and said! 😂

Yamaha hs8 or krk 8 g4 for dj/mixing drum and bass at home, what would you recommend?

  35. MadNixx Vlogs May 4, 2021 @ 1:35 am

Next week I’m getting my Fluid Audio Fx8..

  36. Thompter S. Hunson May 4, 2021 @ 1:37 am

In those price ranges, go for a _Kali Audio_ speaker. It blows the shit out of these mediocre monitors.

  37. Ron Bradshaw May 4, 2021 @ 1:38 am

I’d be surprised that Yamaha in not the bigest seller of studio monitors…

  38. I just setup my Rokit 8 G4s. I’m replacing my Rokit 5 G3s. I’m totally blown away!! They sound incredible compared to my Rokit 5 G3s! A/B-ing them, shows me that the 5’s were so muddy (all of the frequencies are on top of each other, and the bass has a unpleasing boomy-ness). I was having a lot of trouble mixing (electronic music) with the 5’s. The 8’s are SO much clearer. There is so much more space, I can hear all of the individual sounds and where they are in the mix. Obviously the bass is much more detailed and expressive on the 8’s compared to the 5’s. My jaw literally dropped while listening to some expressive music. I’m hearing things I never heard on the 5’s. GAME CHANGER for me. I haven’t even used the DSP on them yet.. I’ll be doing that next. WOW. Thank you for your review! It got me pretty excited while waiting for my 8’s to arrive!

Hi I have a question Buy two KRK G4 7 monitors and when it turns on it emits a white background sound "Hissing ssssss" without any connection this wave sound is heard up to 1.50 meters. Unlike KRK G3 monitors, there is no such white noise. Do I need help and do I know if this whistle is normal? Thanks for your reply

  40. Jose Sanchez May 4, 2021 @ 1:43 am

I love the ghostbusters dolls in te back 😉

  41. Erik Charlat May 4, 2021 @ 1:44 am

ive been using krk rokit 6s for the past 7 years now. got the gen 3 currently. people can hate all they want . these speakers get it done in lots of ways. for the money they cant be beat.

  42. Kali LP-8

  43. Have the front metal baffles been released by KRK yet? Where do you buy these?

  44. I bought a pair of these speakers for my studio, but do I need to buy a XLR cable or can I use my TRS 6.3mm cable?

  45. Besides KRK Rokits, another model that definitely popularized studio monitors amongst bedroom DJ’s are the Behringer Truth series, especially the B2031A model. Very solid sound, can deliver loud output and offers amazing value for money. I’ve been enjoying my pair for over a decade now.
Btw, when are you guys going to review Kali Audio montitors? Models like the KALP-6 are getting raving reviews and are supposed to be amazing value for money, especially for DJ’s who want to dip their toes into audio production.

  46. Fantastic review as always… the only thing you didn’t cover was the most important to me: I’ve got the first gen 8’s and one has crapped out because of the potting material corroding parts and becoming conductive:/
Anyone know if they changed the black-death-goo they had spread on things to stop ratted internally?

  47. can i use for dj ? for houseparty or just practice

  48. Jason Zakery May 4, 2021 @ 1:51 am

hey guys, which ones are better for casual listening and music production and mixing? krk rokit 8g4 vs m-audio bx8 d3

  49. Newschoolcovers May 4, 2021 @ 1:51 am

4:00 Class D is a massive step back in comparism to Class A-B when it comes to sound quality in higher frequencies.

  50. Sean Rickett May 4, 2021 @ 1:54 am

Hey Mojaxx! Should I get the 7’s or 8’s just for DJing in an untreated room? Approx 9m²

    Cheers, love your reviews 😎
