Magnum Classic 48 Review – $1.6k Value Folding Ebike

https://electricbikereview.com/magnum/classic-48/ The Magnum Classic 48 is a value priced step-through electric folding bike from Magnum that comes in two colors, is also feature rich with fenders, rear rack, included lights in the front and rear, front suspension fork, suspension seat post, competitively priced at just $1,599, and uses a reliable drivetrain and electrical system. Driven by a powerful Bafang rear hub-drive motor that is rated at a 500-700 watts, 90nm of torque, can be engaged either by the cadence sensor for cadence based pedal assist or trigger throttle, is capable of speeds up to 25mph, uses a high capacity 48v 13ah battery, and has a large easy to read display. Mechanically operated by a 7 speed Shimano Tourney derailleur with a grip shift, 14-28 tooth cassette in the rear, 52 tooth chain ring in the front, and 165mm crank arms, 160mm mechanical disc brakes in the front and rear each with motor inhibitors. Some tradeoffs for the lower price-point like mechanical disc brakes, slower battery charger, basic suspension fork, no clasp or magnet system to keep it folded up, also the keys have to stay in when riding the bike and the cables could stretch when turning if you have the stem telescoped all the way to the highest adjustment. 1. Something in-between Blix Vika+ and RAD Step-through.

  2. Just starting to look at electric bikes, really like the ability to fold it up and put in back seat or back of suv. 59 lbs seems light to me.

  3. Hey! I have a question .
What does the pedal assist exactly do ? Do you always have to pedal it to have the engine going ? Or is there an option where you can hold the handle bar to activate it ? Im looking as a uber eats delivery guy

  4. Is this a newer version of the previous review you did in 2017? I notice this one has spokes while the other one had aluminum

  5. Where to buy this suspension seat post?

An adjustable front light on the handlebar is more likely to be accidentally pointed upwards and blind other people on bikes or motorists, so I would say the position is a feature.

  10. Does the key just lock the battery in or does it also open and close an electrical circuit.

  11. Good power, good price.

    Ooo, you’re so lucky 😄🙏✌️

  12. I’m so glad you are not wearing the Devo helmet like your co-host

  13. It looks you were at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.

  14. Maybe it’s because I’m old, but step through always said female bike to me

  15. Thanks. Bro

  16. I can’t decide whether to get the RadMini Step Thru or this Magnum Classic 48 Low Step? Both are priced similarly as of right now, but the Magnum includes more features for its base price. Can anyone give me some advice or what you’d personally pick as your e-bike?

  17. Utah looks lovely❣ that oversized chain guide is visually appealing as an element, too.
