This 72v Electric Bike is way too fast!

I strapped a 72v ebike battery to my diy electric bike. This battery upgrade made the bike even faster and can reach a top speed over 35mph.

  1. Waasup DBN, do you have a link for that battery? And im pretty sure that the motor on the Letric XP doesn’t have a maximum voltage, if you pump too many watts for too long then it would probably fry it. The controller is what I would be more concerned about.

Great vid, but I will stick with my 20mph e-bikes. I DO enjoy having plenty of torque, though!!!! Keep up the good work, DBN, deuces!!!

Yuppp…way too fast! Hahaha Great video, as always, my man!

  5. it made me nervous just watching you go that fast. All I can think of was skin and asphalt. You need motocycle gear to be doing that stuff.

  7. Coming down from PV to Redondo my friend was just letting the grade take him to whatever speed. I guy pulls up to him in his car and tells him 55. He got scared and slowed down.

I want to find a away to keep my Lectric at moped speeds, 20-30 MPH but for distance. If I wanted a electric motorcycle I would just buy one. So I am going to find that way. I always run out of battery by the time my wife and I are on our way back from our rides that are around 15 miles. She doesn’t seem to have any issues but I am at around 250 lbs, and I peddle a bit but if I go fast it seems to deplete fast. Love your videos David as always and I always watch them. Thanks for keeping the energy to keep all of us wanting more! –chris

  12. Lol. The E bike mad scientist. I’ve got a few projects I need to do before I try to super charge my XP. Keep pushing the limits.

  15. Excellent video as usual. If you keep pushing the limit, keep your safety in mind.

You gotta imagine the folks at Lectric are like don鈥檛 do it the motor will burst into flames.
It鈥檚 time to create an electric bike racing league.

  17. What watt is your dads E bike? 1000w?

  18. The Good Chad May 1, 2021 @ 12:59 am

    Hell yeah

  19. The looks you鈥檒l get passing up a car while you鈥檙e riding on the sidewalk 馃槅

  20. Im still waiting for my XP to show up i ordered march 21st still no email of it coming anytime soon im 31 years old and i do want more speed so i cant wait to see how your XP turns out with the upgrade

  21. Keep us posted on local laws! I want a fast bike but I fear local police won’t like it haha

  22. Just get a motorcycle. The rebel 1100 DCT is fully automatic and GREAT for beginners

  23. You need a bigger motor, Why Stop Now!

  24. Bro you’re gonna get subs strictly bc like no one else is actually posting real 72v top speed runs on basic hub motors. Thanks you for making this lol – I bought a 72v battery and was dying to see real life use before mine comes in.

Do you remember how long it took for you to get your lectric do bike, order mine a couple weeks ago and can鈥檛 wait to get it!

  26. That nice as hell

  27. Easter Fam951 May 1, 2021 @ 1:13 am

You are ready for those LA rides!

  28. Metro Gaming May 1, 2021 @ 1:13 am

How do you know the battery goes with the controller or are they all the same

  29. Grouchy Dude May 1, 2021 @ 1:15 am

Your dad’s bike is pretty awesome! I have an electric bike and I can go only 28 mph on throttle but that is scary enough for me…cant imagine going 41 mph.

  30. Man you need to ride a motorcycle if you need speed like that

Bikes at 25 plus mph is foolish

  31. Dude, how about some info on where you got that battery, cost, ect. That thing looks like it will fit into my Sonders MXS with minimal modifications, and I am wanting 72V for my bike…. that hasn’t even arrived yet, lol.
