What about Swagtron
1500 ? sir i can buy a car with that
Haha less then 1500 is affordable haha lmfao 馃ぃ
Can you do a review on the rebel, beach cruiser E bike, 20 in tire size and the 26in tire size..I would love to know your opinion. Plz馃槉
Lol. This is a joke. No lectric? I lost all respect for this site.
Favor Rad much? There are so many other bikes out there that could have been on this list. Rad is stuck in a rut. They need some serious design upgrades, start offering more options and do they still give ya a scaled up 500w motor? They should be pushing the edge, being innovators and leaders in the industry every year. Instead they are just recycling the same old tired designs year after year. Ill never buy one.
This felt like a Rad commercial but I value your opinion however I hoped for a little more variety. I think there are a few more bikes/companies worthy of this list like Sondors X, Fold X etc, Lectric XP and a few others.
Came for a list of affordable ebike options, instead got a commercial for rad bikes.
Ride1Up has really great affordable options that should鈥檝e been on this list.
1) What was the point of recording this video out in the cold?
2) XP vs. Rad (the similar bikes). No contest. Dollar-for-dollar, it’s got to be the XP, which is faster, well built, with quality fenders and decnt lights and a rear rack!! And it comes fully assembled.
3) My wife’s Ride1Up 500 has the same top speed (28 mph) as my XP, but is quicker and takes hills better. (Better battery?) It’s also $400.00 more than the XP, but well worth it.
4) I have always found your videos to be very fair (and tough sometimes, which is good), but this one was painfully disappointing. Hey, nobody’s perfect.
5) Keep up the good work.
6) All the best in 2021.
Stop lying man u are a RAD advertising guy
I would like to see a review of the Electric Bike Co ‘ Model R’ Series.
Thank you Court Rye for all your in-depth and thorough video reviews. I was wondering if you could do a review of the lightest e-bikes due to I’m getting older now and it’s getting more challenging to take my non-electric bike and place it in the car rack for local bike rides. Was looking at the specialized Vado SL. Would love your recommendation.
My 2020 Ecotric Sportcool for $899 matches anything on your list. Have you tested one?
Great reviews.
Thank you! Merry Christmas!
Guys there are some basic mathematics at work here. In 2020 Universal Pictures released 248 films. Ratscratch Entertainment released 1. Some of you are stomping into the Academy Awards and shouting, "Ratscratch didn’t get Best Picture?! You’re biased! You’re a sell-out!" Of course it’s disheartening to think that Rad Power Bikes are the top of the heap. They’re not. They’re at the top of the bottom of the heap. That makes them the heap. I appreciate that EBR has created these tiers. The worst part of it all is now Rad will advertise they have new Best of Electric Bike Review winners. In doing so the project a false equivalence with Riese & Muller, and Stromer, Gazelle, Bulls, Specialized.
This didn’t help at all, just a ad for Rad bikes…..They’re not even in my top 5!
Cool shades. What type are they?
I鈥檓 going to stifle my cynicism and trust that these truly are your picks, but geez, why all the nods to Rad? I understand in many ways they are a safer bet especially in terms of customer service, but this ode to Rad really leaves one questioning the authenticity of these choices. I cannot believe that the Aventon Level, Lectric, or Ride1UP bikes aren鈥檛 mentioned at all. The Level is a beautiful bike that has way more power and comes with hydraulic brakes you keep mentioning, plus it now offers throttle on demand. For the money, there are plenty of other economical bike choices sporting quality components with far more get up and go than most of these. Love your vids and appreciate you guys, but not really in agreement with this.
Court – good job. My personal choice would be the Blix Sol at $1499 – not for everyone but I love the Scandinavian minimalist aesthetic. Whilst not a drag racer, the nominal 350 watt (500 max) motor coupled with a 48 volt 14 amp hour battery augurs well for impressive range capability. Cheers
Surprised not to see Propella on here.
Can you please cover belt driven E-bikes? I like the RadPower bikes, but much of Europe seems to have been using belt driven ebikes. I want to buy an e-bike and a commuter for just riding around town in. Any advice between the belt driven bikes and chain. Thank you.
It’s all about the deals. I started with what I wanted. I had to narrow down what my budget was ($2500.00). Then I had to figure out the most equipment I could get within 2500 bucks. Right now, (December 6, 2020) Volt has a fair amount of models and big deals.
What a joke! Rad bike commercial.. you dueche.
I need a ebike bike recommendation for someone who weighs 250 and with water, tools, snacks we are talking 280lb that is foldable. I have a foldable now but i also have a flat tire problem and when im 8 miles from my car and out of cell distance i have a real problem as repairing the rear tire is not easy for a 70 yr old male. ive been looking at a non spoke tire but im unsure about it….is there a bike out there i can ride?
thats not affordable
This is a Rad commercial/endorsement. I hope they paid you.
Great review, Court! Thank you for your honesty and for staying true to your values even though you knew listing multiple Rads might create pushback. I appreciate your perspective as someone that has reviewed literally hundreds of bikes in detail over the years.
What about reviews on the Rize bikes?
I really want to know how all these bikes compete with Rize city. On paper, it seems to be better than all these. Has a 19 AH battery, hydraulic brakes, torque sensor and it’s still as expensive as Radcity and also lighter than it.
Thought I’d see the Lectric XP and at least one Ride1up bike, but I guess you wanted to make a Rad commercial instead.
rad rad rad rad rad rad rad rad or maybe a rad
If there’s actual people out there need to know this kind of information’ they shouldn’t be riding bikes at all’….馃憥
So when are you going to do a european version of this top five [ and of the channel 馃檪 ] ?
Rad City still has that crappy underpowered motor. It works only for you and women.
is Frike a good quality brand ebike?
Cort has done more for Ebikes in N America than just about anybody. Watching and recommending his vids for years. Hats off to the guy. Feel bad you have gotten so much flack for this video. Cort please make a redo best budget ebike video with a different brand for each bike. Maybe not a ranking video but just 10 solid ebikes for under 2 grand.
I love ya, my wife loves ya, my dachshund lives ya!
That looks like White Rock B.C.! Wherever it is, it鈥檚 beautiful. Thank you for this helpful content. I appreciate the details.
I am a first time bike buyer. I’m.looking to buy the Magnum Pathfinder?? Any thoughts on this product???
Seems like EBR may be doing a commercial for Rad and not really an unbiased review. Political sort of review for who his sponsors are.
Like everyone, you don’t rate hill climbing ability, which as a +60 yo with crappy cardio (once a chronic, always a chronic) and hill climbing is the only reason I am looking at electric bikes, really frustrating.
Here’s a list that helped me out.
"whinyl.com/elctrb-guide/
In the end, I went with #10.

This doesn’t seem fair. Many of your viewers think you should cast wide your horizon.
The RadMission is $1099, not $999 (guessing the intro price before) right?
I’ve been saving my config since Nov, hoping for a Black Friday or New Year price. Now just waiting for the phone holder to be available before clicking order. 馃檪
Ancheer is good at arounf 700. For 500W, 26,12.5 battery
Kuksonia Talos should be in that list
Bias review 馃ぅ
No Voltbikes?
Did u ever review the Diadora Cinetico 2020 model from sport check.
