Is there a ‘real’ difference between the $200 range 500w, 1000w, and 1500w hubmotors? Or is it just the voltage and controller?? From what I have seen they are all the same hub! Maybe they are just showing a generic picture? I have a 48-72v 1.5kw controller I want to put on something I have also been checking a 3kw golden motor, I’m thinking about mid driving, but hubs are much more simple! But keeping gears is cool! Both is insanely cool!

How much? did you say $260 here in the UK they are about £120 its what I started with 4 yrs ago and its still running.
