Electric Tern Verge Si8 Bike – adding electric power to a folding bike

I added an electric motor (Bafang) to my Tern Verge Si8 folding bicycle. All the parts for the conversion came from GRIN technologies at Ebike.ca located in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Installed with a 500W 14 Ah battery, Cycle Analyst display, GRIN’s in-house controller, with a throttle and Potentiometer (POT) for dailing in the watts for the pedal assist sensor (PAS).

  1. What is the top speed you are doing on this bike?

  2. Wow thanks for the video. I have been thinking a long time to do exactly the same thing on a tern bike too. However I have the d7i which has v brakes instead of disc brakes. I think I will have to change the fork. I once had a Dahon and converted this myself too.

  3. Hi Timothy! Thanks for sharing this
Out of curiosity: roughly, how much did it cost trying to breakdown by components and manpower? After several months, is it worth it? Thanks a lot!
