Have you taken it in or did the new Bosch updates? If you had, have you noticed a performance difference? Is the shifting a lot crisper then the regular HP? Are you able to keep up with fast riders downhill or on the flats?
Thanks for the review Spencer. I haven’t received mine yet, but should come April or May,,,,it’s been a long time for the build w/ what is going on. I too chose the same color for the heck of it and didn’t want to pay more for black (which is available in standard for the HP+ for some reason). I am 69 y/o so I dismissed the fact that it should have a 50T/34 available for gears. I figured it would take me into my latter years and tried to be realistic. Obviously it is a bike that is out of the reach of most, but I wanted the Di2 shifter (for once) and that was my deciding factor. Lucky me, I get to ride my "ultimate" bike, but there have been many in between. I envy the following generation that will have more options at a lower price and I am happy for them. btw, I drive a 21 y/o truck and love it too, so hopefully I won’t come across as a snob.
It is a beauty!!! Could be a little lighter, but NOT at the expense of range! To the best of My knowledge, this & the S-Works Turbo Creo SL are the very first SERIOUS S–Pedelec (i.e., an e-bike conforming to the 45km/h standard) in the world and possibly the only one in existence as of today. The colour is absolutely stunning, even a smidgen better than Specialized’ SuperNova Chameleon & Satin Oil paint jobs! The shape is beautiful. Compatibility with wider tyres and racks is highly commendable! I wish it was also front & rear rack, fork crown headlight & [magnetically] bolt-on top tube bag -compatible; came with a flat- cross section (as opposed to cylindrical ones) dropbar for hand comfort (but with enough cylindrical handlebar real estate for accessories like phone GPS & mounts, handlebar bag bracket, etc.) and cylindrical seat tube, so that a seat post of choice (i.e., RedShift Sports ShockStop, etc.) could be used to smoothen bumps. Still, it’s probably the best e-bike there is at present, neck-in -neck with the latest Turbo Creo SL. I’d say, the Trek is a smidgen more beautiful.
Did you consider the + LT? I just ordered the HP but maybe I should get the LT. I want to cover 40-50 mile rides 50/50 light gravel / road…only have about 2 hours free time per ride…like the idea of integrated computer / lights on the HP. Test rode the HP and loved cutting through a headwind!
I had the pleasure of trying to Keep Up with this bike with headwinds at 22+ MPH and I could barely talk, while the owner rode along, plenty of breath and happiness.. what a cool machine, can’t wait to try one out
Also can you ride with motor completely off?
How fast it go???
May I enquire what the range is in each mode? Thank you.
I’m yet to see a paint job that favourably compares to Trek’s Purple Flip. A magical colour!

How much does it weigh?
Does this bike have the Bosch gen 4 motor, and is it fairly quiet?

One problem with the lights is that they have no blink mode, a mode that works to better catch a driver’s attention.

How long or far can the battery be on?
It鈥檚 amazing the people who post stuff on their E bikes they don鈥檛 tell the range. I wonder why?
Great review Spencer. Now I know to draft behind you!
