Wait a second….. an eBike will be noticeably HEAVIER (particularly with that big battery and the obviously heavy gaged steel frame) than a ‘normal’ peddle-only bike. Is that a reason for the abbreviate range? And the man weighs 190!! Is this medically over-weight??
I bought one of these in the Kickstarter program and I waited a year to get it I will say I am very sorry I bought it I haven’t even put 20 miles on it and I want to get rid of it. I have five ruptured discs and I want to ride my bike but this wheel makes it so much harder, and the scary thing is when I leave the house I don’t know if I’m gonna be able make it back using this wheel. So basically I took the wheel off and if anybody is interested I am selling this one I’m going to see if I can get about $700 for it I even have the case for it, it was a very misleading advertising and I fell for it.
I got a 750w bbs02 kit for the same price as your wheel. I get 3-4x the range, possible to pedal without electric (bike is very heavy tho), i can go 55km/h and i can make use of my bikes suspension. I just don’t know why people would pick this kind of solution over other kits
Great job with this review, really helpful, really appreciated.
Were you able to get in touch with them to see if maybe there is some sort of solution to help you pedal easier?
Obviously the motor has resistance when its dead that’s why its so hard to pedal, but I’m thinking maybe there is a way, or a switch to release the gear or the resistance?!?
Also I would love to know your feedback now after having had it for over 6 months? is the battery still only giving you 12 miles?
Do you know what happens when the tire wears out? I mean the tread? I am thinking to take this on a trip to Cuba and use it there, I travel to cuba often but the roads are really horrible there, so I’m really worried about the tire…
Thank you in advance
You say it’s difficult to peddle with (and I’ve read the comments about battery regeneration, which makes sense). My question is: If you wanted to ride the bike without power, could you simply remove the battery to ride it like normal? Does making it lighter help, or is there still some resistance? It would be nice to be able to essentially turn it into a regular wheel without the extra weight if that was the case.
You should consider doing an updated review explaining that you can turn the resistance/recharge off. Plus, the aspect of speed effecting MPC. Electrical-based transportation has enough trouble fighting against Big Oil and its bedfellow, the American automobile industry to suffer from under-informed reviewers—which is understandable considering it’s new technology to you and the rest of the world.
Now that’s an opinion like I said the Geo is so heavy going up wards n I have less weight to pedal . The Geo is does give you the an advantage and that’s keeping your stamina but it’s the same as going upwards that’s the downfall.. now I have gone 60 miles an hour on a highway behind a 18 wheeler.. can Geo do that you tell me?
This wheel is not true, easily seen at 5:55. Which is kinda obvious it will have this problem, seeing there are no spokes to help keep its shape. Garbage design.
maybe if you were actually fit… you could probably pedal fast.
Get fit you look like a 200 KG person
I way 110 pure muscle and i can pedal that wheel 10 times as fast as you
what a shit Review!!!!
If the motor/gear assembly had some type of spring loaded sliding gear or a freewheel gear, it could easily engage the drive system when the motor is activated, and then just as easily release it when the motor is off. This would allow for a true free spinning wheel without any resistance with or without the battery in place. Of course this would also disable any regenerative capabilities. Here’s a simple example made from Lego: https://youtu.be/pGgv7VNb6Nk
I have never been convinced that a wheel rim with no tensile spoke stability would ever be strong enough. The fact that the tyre had to be solid to avoid valve protrusion onto the drive surface means the unsuspended rim will be even more vulnerable to damage, as it’s even less able to absorb shock. Once it’s slightly out of true it’s basically junk. A suspended wheel can easily be trued; this can’t.
I was not alone in making similar comments about the product on the manufacturer’s Youtube channel during its early development. It surprises me that it’s made it this far.
Of course it’s going to be hard to pedal without electrical power: there are three contacting wheels on the rim with all their bearing pairs and surface friction, the axle bearings and the drag of the motor. A reular brushless DC wheel has just the motor resistance and one axle bearing pair.
Other comments made related to how poor friction drives are in the wet and how ingress of dirt causes them not only to become inefficient, but also damages them.
The solution to this retrofit/conversion problem is the extant brushless DC hub motor wheel. These are ten a penny and work very well.
It’s called a thermally protected battery you fucking idiot all lithium ion batteries are typically thermally protected from idiots like you that don’t know anything about anything fucking stupid no shit Sherlock
welcome to the re-engineered 19th century
Sorry but looks terrible..
Lmao my bike does more km with pedaling.

NEWS FLASH AUDIO for your vid is wicked loooooooooooooooooooow
Thats insane that the battery is inside the wheel.
Thanks for your true comment like
The bad design . Thanks for your offer.
Thaks for your opinion. Helped me a lot to make decision what to buy.
If that thing is "really heavy" like he said, I think hard bumps would either make you loose control, or damage it very easily. Junk.

If they made a back wheel that didn’t move like the front it’d be cool .
Thanks for the review, that wheel its a lemon
Looks cool but seems like way less effective than a standard hub powered wheel
Thanks for the review!
How many inch it is
yah chhote bycyle me lag jaye
Wear a HELMET!!!

You are almost @ 1K, good luck

can i use bosch ebike with this?
Does this pass customs in israel?
You putting it on a heavy ass electric bike btw put on normal bike to get real benchmark the 18 mph shoulda said something
Where I can buy this wheel
I was researching the wheel and came across your video. Great review and greetings from Paradis! Lol
YUNZHILUN iMortor, much better prize and better imo.
Nice Review!! Thanks!
so if you drained the battery, you’re fucked up right? since it’s hard to pedal?
BGM is Unnecessary
Where I can buy this sondors electric cycle
Еп..ть у вас дороги, у нас бы первая яма отправила это колесо в рай
Thanks for the review
Price in Indian currency
Thank you for the review. I have seen them used for sale for $400 and wanted to find out more first. This really helped.
…WORK ON IT!
Looks to dorky.. all you need is black glasses with tape on it 🤓

pedal along with it to give it a push. Also, could you add an extra battery?
90% of the bullshit and content to this video who gives a fuck

When the tire wears down, you’ll have to buy a whole new wheel …
