Gocycle GS Video Review – $2.8k Compact, Lightweight, Sporty Folding Electric Bike

https://electricbikereview.com/gocycle/gs/ The Gocycle GS is a futuristic, lightweight, folding electric bike with removable wheels, the magnesium body is lightweight and durable, the battery and motor are almost completely hidden. While much more affordable than the G3, the GS doesn’t sacrifice quality for price and retains toque sensing assist, app integration, and a three-speed internally geared hub. Available in a range of color combinations, excellent warranty and parts support, expanding dealer network around the world, wide assortment of accessories including lights, fenders, racks, and bags. Range can be limited depending on drive mode and the smaller 291 watt hour battery, the geared canister motor produces a bit more whirring noise than similarly specced hub motors, the kickstand can be tricky to deploy, the bike and accessories are more expensive than average. 1. Such a beautiful bike but it’s a lot of money and just looking at it looks like you cannot chain it up so easy to steal. They stole my bike last year, also bcz had a cheap chain so looking for good chains so they don’t have the time to steal my bike again …

  2. When a bicycle stops being a bicycle.

  3. Hi Court! Question for you… You remarked in this video how the smallish 20” wheels made the ride squirrelly. But then I watched your older review of the folding electric Brompton at NYCEwheels, with only 16” wheels, and you never mentioned any ride problem. Would you say that the smaller Brompton wheels make the ride even more squirrelly? Or is it somehow less of an issue? Thanks, and I think you do the best electric bike reviews! Always interesting, well paced, and entertaining!

  4. These bikes are 100% the real deal high quality bike, that is so rare these days.
A beautiful looking clean design, fun bike to ride and take anywhere easily on holidays in the car.
Thanks Court great vid we have two them and love them.

  5. Horrible display phone mount and practical use, impossible to see during the day with sunlight, what were they thinking…

  6. This bike would be perfect if it was better designed to go off road.

I hate to say it but…This bike should weigh 25lbs at this price. All that tech and Magnesium, 36lbs, 2.8K, really? Sometimes I wonder what the hell this company is going for. They don’t take the prize for weight. They don’t take the prize for speed. They don’t take the prize for torque. At this price what are they trying to be the best at? There is nothing about this bike that impresses me.

  8. Wanna know what’s fucked up? I can buy a pretty sturdy non-electric folding bike for $140 USD, and then an Australian made 2,800W Volition Boost mid-drive motor and 60v battery for $1,800 USD, and I’ve got a folding bike that’s capable of 50mph (80kph), and I’ve STILL spent less than what this thing costs..

  9. These are really smooth looking ebikes. Happy Easter Court, and thanks for posting this review. Take care.

  10. You spent more time on this review then normal, but its shorter then normal. o.O

  11. Quick question, haven’t looked around yet – is it compatible with a Bike Trailer? I have the Burley D’Lite .

  12. Hi Court. Great vid as always. Really like Gocycle bikes; great design but have reservations about how durable they are for a larger rider? 😊

  13. Great review , very cool design , unique E-bike

  14. wow such an amazing design! I love the way it breaks down and stows for travel. great video thanks for sharing

  15. For bike which cost 3k$ it look kinda cheap (whis shity china pedal and ugly welded wheels)

  16. Transcend Consulting Inc. December 1, 2020 @ 8:39 pm

Beautiful bike, I wish there was someplace to test this and ride it with my wife. My fear is we would end up buying two.

  18. Magnesium is one of the rare resources of this earth. When I think ecologically, I can not buy an electric bicycle with magnesium components. There is one exception, however. I ride the bike for a long time, preferably for a lifetime. After all, this bike is so well built that it could take a few decades. Only the battery causes me a headache. Who can replace the battery later? Is that possible in a simple way? The bike is certainly very well designed and an eye-catcher.

Do you have a favorite folding ebike?

  20. 👍👍👍👍

  21. Hello, what are you using to record, please?

  22. I like the bike, but is a little pretentious

  23. Bad review doesn’t show operation without the phone, many probably think the phone is required. Also, the review goes from ‘these are the best wheels in the world’ to ‘these are the worst wheels in the world’.

  24. I love E bike

  25. I had a test ride in Edinburgh today. I am 57 years female. Loved it! Roads here are busy and cobbles or potholes so you have to look where you are going on the ground!

What is the maximum height for a rider of this bike?

  27. The motor sounds noisy. I like this eBike but it’s too expensive. The gtec eBike is better price wise.

  28. I’m sold – a trip to FullyCharged (London) I think, but don’t tell the wife.

  29. Burning down the House December 1, 2020 @ 8:58 pm

Has anyone used any of these go cycles in relatively hilly environments?

  30. Too expensive for what you get.

  31. *My friend and☞☞>**share4.photo/ebicycle?ѝ **   I each bought one of these bikes several weeks ago and have loved riding around our rural town. We have some inclines on our bench area and the pedal assist really makes it easy to get around and enjoy our bike rides.*

  32. Lovely refined review,thankyou.

  33. 4x more expensive than what suppose to be… small battery life

  34. The fit and finish is really a notch above most ebikes these days. Which is not too surprising, being that the founder comes from McLaren. The way they designed the seatpost is simply brilliant and the internally geared hub is becoming the norm for any future ebike that I am looking to build or buy.

  35. Two years later the price is still $2,800. 😔

Hi, any chance you’re going to be doing a GoCycle GX review in the near future? They’re just arriving at US dealers and I’m very keen to hear your thoughts – it seems to be a substantial change with it now being easy-folding. I’m wondering about range and efficiency of the front-hub motor too.

  37. Form over function. Not interested.

  38. cool bike but too expensive

  39. I instantly recognized the neighborhood you’re doing the review in. Sun City.

  40. A well-meaning tip: on your site, your reviews neglect periods in favour of commas, yielding numerous run-on sentences. Still, the most in-depth reviews on e-bikes around, bar none.

  41. I have this bike ….so much fun around town… But with the small wheels and battery, not good for a long commute or big hills. I use it "on demand" mostly which is good for my style of riding. Great video btw,

  42. How does this bike compare to the much cheaper Xiaomi Qicycle which by the way folds a lot quicker?
