i just bought a new bike Ancheer on ebay for 485.00 dollars. what type of grease do you use for the motor? the batteries cost half the price of the bike! you can’t unplug the wire when take the wheel off?

  2. Out of curiosity, do you remember how many teeth the white parts had please?

  3. I know you said the motor was making noise and I think it’s new bike, so what makes you think it needed more grease than what was there from the factory? I know grease is good but to much is bad. Can’t tell from the video if those holes behind the gears are open to the windings but if so, slinging excess grease thru them would not be good. As long as they are sealed from each other (windings/gears) seems like something I’ll be keeping an eye on.  I just got the same bike and you assembly video was a great help and time saver. The supplied instructions are pretty useless

    Thank goodness it’s so easy

Does the hub motor have a brand name on it? Wondering if I can buy the same motor but 500w instead of 250 and just swap it out?

  6. i put a hub motor on my trike. When i start it from a dead stop i always help it to get going by pedaling. This is some thing I learned riding a pedal assist only bike.

  7. A "zerk" fitting is a grease port that works with a grease gun.

Makes total sense, thanks for the easy fix with out the $$ or time.

Thank you for this video – anyone found a seller for replacement nylon planetary gears? I know the mid drive gears "8-Fun Bafang T36" are readily available on ebay, but not sure if they would be the same? Anyone can shed some light on this thank you.

  11. Mines just started to crack a little when cold so I’m here for a quick butchers 👍

Thanks for the video. I’m trying to find the exact hub motor’s name and model. Can you tell me the exact serial number written on your hub motor? I got the ancheer 20 inch folding bike with disk brakes (bike model : AM001908). My hub is labeled : CZJB01-36V20" 171001512 . I think the hub motor is made by the "Changzhou Jiabo Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd." I’d like to upgrade my 36V 15amp generic controller to a 48 volt one (id also upgrade battery to 48V obviously) so I can gain RPM and top speed. So I’m trying to figure out if the hub can take 360Watts of power without too much heat. Whats the label number on on you hub ? I’m trying to figure for exact specs (max watts, volts… gear reduction ratio, etc) and potential need for spare pieces etc in the future..

  13. Where is that accent from if you don’t mind….Not a hater I just am fascinated by accents …My guess is near Poland?

  14. Nice to see they come apart fairly easy.. yes grease is good but not too much .. oh and if you want to get rid of the out-of-balance wheels either remove the reflector or add a second reflector opposite side to balance it out. 🙂

You right, the motor hub gears need to be lubricated reguraly, and by the way the gears are replacable, i just replaced mine from aliexpress website, and ebay have them too, because the clutch just stock, but the problem is you need to buy the right size gears by measuring diameters of the gear assembly, by using special diameter tool measurment to get accurate numbers or you can use regular measurment tabe like i did but it is a hight probability to ge the wrong size small.or biger.

  16. My hub motor gears are worn where can I buy them any idea ?

  17. You have to open it to grease it?

  18. Bob Ravenscraft May 17, 2021 @ 1:34 am

Bigger battery more amps and watts. 36 x10=360

  19. Henrik Jonsson May 17, 2021 @ 1:35 am

Thanks good video. I have bad sound in my motor too when I go upphill so I think I take it apart and do a service with greas (with the right one). You can notice that you know when there is a service to be done because the motor is not that strong anymore and it takes more energy.

  20. I really like your channel, please I have a e fat bike but I’m having a problem with it. The problem I’m having with it is that, it’s use to STOP and then repeat again when I’m driving. Sometimes it move 30 m/h to 00:00 m/h please can you help me to solve the problem?

  21. Wow cheap and bad design that power cable does not come apart for service. Good video though thumbs up.

Have you had your rear wheel become acentric?

  23. Chuck Chambers May 17, 2021 @ 1:40 am

Ancheer has a youtube channel on here called "Ancheer sport" showing various videos on repairs and replacement as well as full assembly on various models.

  24. Hey RoManiac- You’ve got to get a spoke wrench and do something about the spoke tension in that rear wheel. I can tell just by looking that those spokes are becoming WAY too loose. Maybe take it to a bike shop and have it looked at if you aren’t good at wheel work.

  25. sunny Okunuga May 17, 2021 @ 1:41 am

Can you make it go any faster?

  26. Some Dumb Ozzie May 17, 2021 @ 1:47 am

Thanks just did my bike it was making a grinding noise at low speed coasting it turned out the grease had migrated off the cogs.

  27. charles Lane27 May 17, 2021 @ 1:47 am

It’s an ancheer, they’re a piece of junk, you’d be better off unscrewing the screws on the controller box and unplugging the wiring harness

  28. Hey Mr. Romanic, Would you know how to get in contact with this company? I need a controller and throttle. If you would know it would be appreciated. Thanks! Great video..

  29. I think it is a seized sealed bearing. But idk. Wierd.

  30. Cool that you made this Videos about the Motor, i saved some, if i got a Problem i know what to watch 😀

  31. hi, i hope you can also do instructional on how to remove and replace the sealed bearings, coz i feel some play on the motor hub wheel.

  32. Ummm, doesn’t that grinding and lack of power at the end of the video indicate a problem. I have two of these (brand new) and this just started on one of them. It will spin the wheel but there is no power (I can grab the wheel and hold it). Any thoughts? Thx

  33. Kjeld Vloemans May 17, 2021 @ 1:53 am

After how many miles did you need to do this?

  34. Gianfranco Fronzi May 17, 2021 @ 1:53 am

In that little drive you took at the end, it still didn’t sound good to me.

  35. thanks, maybe a non petroleum based lubricant for the gears

  36. danielvincentkelley May 17, 2021 @ 1:55 am

Can you believe they didn’t bother to put a detach for the motor’s power cable? Unfreaking believable. That’s actually why I’m here, trying to figure out how to swap a god damn inner tube. You mean just to swap an inner tube I’m going to have to take the god damn motor out!? Otherwise I have to open the power controller box and divorce the wire in there… This is OUTRAGEOUS.

  37. thanks for this video i have the wheel off and was just putting off buying a flywheel puller turns out its all one unit… lol fml

  38. Seal the hub and try gear oil. Just enough so it circulates around.

  39. can you use chain lube o nthe gears? mine makes an odd noise when givin electric power, it started in the middle of a ride with slight rain

  40. There’s a common problem with these …clicking sound coming from inside…..In my case the magnets are Ok and are in place…and the gears are now greased….and still clicking….so it’s a problem…and I dont’ feel like taking the motor apart..and don’t have a machine shop in my apartment…..ideally i’d love to just buy a new motor and splice it in from the wire….cut and spice…red to red white to white etc. .There’s a video someplace but shows a huge amount of work replacing the motor – taking apart the whole controller box….no thx lol

  41. Love your channel, Not to be a naysayer and all but if you add too much grease to your clutch assembly (Planetary gears) it will overflow into the motor side and (could) cause issues with your Hall sensors. So IMO go light on the grease and use a nonlatex base…

  42. Maccabee45 maccabee May 17, 2021 @ 2:03 am

    Excellent

  43. Alan M. Newman May 17, 2021 @ 2:05 am

Great channel! Keep the vids coming and thank you!

  44. Wow! I definitely needed to see this cause I gotta change a flat and all the other vids are for other ebikes with different assemblies!

  45. I would use a bike like that mainly on flat ground. They did not put a disconnect on that motor "cringe" That will suck when it really needs parts or replacing. You are a handy guy build your next ebike.

  46. Marciano Demidof May 17, 2021 @ 2:09 am

    Great video my man.

  47. Sebastian Zelaya May 17, 2021 @ 2:10 am

  48. David eduardo Kuan May 17, 2021 @ 2:10 am

  49. Luqman Radzuan May 17, 2021 @ 2:13 am

The motor on my new ancheer folding ebike went bad.
    Is there a replacement anywhere?
On the motor it says 26" 36V17101400 H

    Will any other motor fit?
