NEW 2021 Bosch Performance Sport Motor!
Bosch recently added a new motor system to their line called the Performance Line Sport Motor! I was fortunate enough to be able to ride and check out a few bikes with this motor system and I wanted to share my experiences with you guys. There’s some exciting updates including being able to assist up to 28mph and a more natural, less limiting feeling.
We hope you found this video to be helpful. If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave those below!

Are you aware of any bikes that have a throttle activated Bosch motor, or are all Bosch motors pedal assist activated?
New Zealand has the 2021 Generation 4 performance speed with a 45kph assist. I purchased 2 and they really go and climb like on turbo. Why does GB have such backward and controlling regulations.
You are very handsome!! Eres muy guapo 馃槝
How鈥檚 the podcast coming along, Chris? Looking forward to it.

Great video as always. We need this on the new Tinker Vario 馃榿
As it’s the festive season, a time for goodwill to all mankind, I thought I ought to regale you with a dose of my dire and desperate doggerel. I fully appreciate you haven’t done anything to deserve such cruel treatment, but, hey, life can be unfair. So here it is;
The Guy Wot Sells Bikes鈥硷笍
As an NY City slicker, he鈥檚 just gotta go quicker.
For the leader of the pack it鈥檚 a must.
So with the turbo cranked high, man watch him fly;
He鈥檚 leaving cars standing in his dust.
He鈥檚 King of the Street, with his peddling feet,
And a soup莽on of help from the motor.
He鈥檚 living the dream as a salesman supreme,
The ultimate electric bike promotor.
It’s not exactly T. S. Eliot, but I do wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled, so that’s got to count for something鈦夛笍
Anyway, as always, a great video, with a wonderful backdrop containing every plant you could lay your hands on, plus the obligatory lamp. Please retain this for future videos, it’s simply marvellous.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish yourself, all those you hold dear, and the people you work with, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.馃コ馃コ馃コ
You produced a video not that long ago on the subject of how to troubleshoot possible problems with R&M bikes and made the comment that you w’d be doing some more of similar videos but to my knowledge you never did! Why? Were you asked by R&M not to do anymore videos because for example shops that sell the bike want to continue charging a fortune to troubleshoot even minor issues or did you decide not to continue producing such videos for other reasons?
Great to hear the new motor is quiet similar to the Gen 3. I’ve been very impressed with the Gen 3 on my Vektron. Peppy, silent and very efficient. Hope this new motor is as good.
In the german markets they seem to sell mainly Gen 4 motors. Even for non MTB bikes. I guess Bosch has some spare production capacity for the Gen 3 motor, it should also be lower in production costs compared to the Gen 4 motor. So from a business perspective it makes sense to push this product.
Just Benno and Tern so far?
Thanks for the info!
Chris – I like the new set. Great work you two. Looks great!
You鈥檙e very lucky having progressive legislation in the states that allows higher assistance speeds. Here in the UK, like most of Europe, we鈥檙e stuck at 15.5 mph. If you own a speed Pedelec such as my Cube Kathmandu 28mph, technically you have to license it as a moped, which as you can imagine most don鈥檛.
I鈥檇 LOVE a 20 mph Tern. Let鈥檚 hope after we leave the EU we can have more choice in assistance levels. Great informative video as always. Seasons greetings! 馃憤

Love your set there and as always your delivery
A bit off topic, but I’ve been reading here and there about integrated ABS in Bosch based e-bikes. Is this something you see coming to e-bikes in 2021 or 2022? Will you be making a video about this? Thanks!!!
Very happy 馃槣馃崈
i buy a vektron s 10 last year but is only 20 mile i wish can go more than that can i change to this motor or do something about it??
