How in the heck does this not have 50 million views? Amazing job… wow… such dedication and awesomeness for 12k views LOL I’ve got a lot of work to do!

  17. Great job & awesome video. I wish all e-bikes start using CAS batteries or CAS start manufacturing e-skateboards, e-scooters, and e-bikes. I will share this video on my Facebook. The instruction is very simple & understandable for many people.

  18. Thank you for all the work in this project. I have tons of Makita Batteries from work I never thought of trying to use. Now I have an endless supply of skateboard batteries 馃槀馃憤

  19. In a way it is a shame that so many of these drill manufactures have gone to the higher 18V systems. When most of them were 12V I would pick up old units from second hand stores (12V ones) and use a 12V 7.5A gel cell with a 1.5m cable. As such they were still VERY portable, and the charge lasted for ages. I suppose one could use a boost circuit to push the 12V to 18V anyway.

When you compare the price between a new drill.. and a replacement battery it is often cheaper just to buy a new drill. Here’s to recycling 馃檪

  20. whats the controller you used for the ebike? cheers

  21. Hi , great video ! Quick question. What kind of motor do you use and I鈥檓 thinking of using two dewalt 20 Valt batteries , I鈥檓 searching for the motor that will work . Thanks for great idea because I have a lot of dewalt batteries here and love long boards !

Would step downs or regulators be required for a series 18v 5amp makitas without a speed controller? (Using a wired 3 pin potentiometer on a 170kw 36v motor)

  23. Mate, you are an absolute legend. I have thought about doing this for a while, you have done all the hard yards for me, big ups to you for the 3d printer files. I know how difficult it can be to print holders for drill batteries and I only designed one of them. Thank you so much for your efforts.

Just a quick question. you place a thin sheet of some kind of metal through the 3d printed part in order to make contact with the battery. What did you use to do that? Is it in your parts list? I didn’t see any mention of it and would love to use this kind of thing for other projects.

  30. just a BMS battery management system and you dont have to worry about having a large voltage difference.

how much Ah do your batteries have?

  33. I’ll throw a link over on the Droids building websites to here, they are always looking at battery options for their R2D2s, BB8s etc.

  34. Dude that is so sweet! Do you think this will work on a starter for a motorbike?
    Really impressed! Cheers Tim

  35. This was pretty awesome to see. I mean it makes sense that li-ion in a powertool battery and in an ebike battery would both do the same job, but hardly any powertools are used continuously for 2 hours, and with the built in protection circuits etc it’s good to know these work as intended in series. One minor downside would be that you can’t easily install any kind of charging port on the board but being able to swap to fresh batteries at a moment’s notice far outweighs this. Otherwise if you only have one set, depending on the charger they could take a while.

  36. I subscribe the second I saw you put the battery holders up for free!!!! That’s extremely helpful and very generous!! Good job!!

  37. Love your channel!

  38. Got a like and a sub just for the real world work put in.

  39. Do not use aluminum as a contact material; nickel plated copper/brass or stainless steel is probably the best.

  40. Will Milwaukee m18 batteries have low voltage cutoff if you used them on an ebike?

  41. Julian Goulding March 16, 2021 @ 11:01 pm

awesome video bro. that Kmart bike was so bad haha. how much was it?

  42. Awesome project! Pretty cool use for power tool batteries. And props for CADing the battery clips. I imagine it too quite a while

  44. Zihszo osiischd

  45. Hi there would you design a one plus drill bracket please I鈥檓 also using a drill battery on my electric skateboard

  46. Change your wheel hub into sealed bearing you could see much difference. Like your skateboard it is sealed bearing.

  47. O mate…..I’ll only say this, PATENT THIS HOLDERS, BEFORE..,also all of those companies should have your statue in ther main entrance, and all of them entering should cudle your balls instead of a nob;) to open the door;)

  48. Liked and subscribed. Those e bike battery companies won’t get another dime from me馃槈鉁岋笍
