Setting up your studio monitors like THIS is BAD – (Best Speaker Setup)

Setting up your studio monitors like THIS is BAD – (Best Speaker Setup)

Are all the dislikes from guys who do put their monitors on their desks? Good advice. Thanks

  2. this video sucked

  3. If you look at any high end speaker, they are coupled to the floor to prevent the speaker cabinet from moving. You want the energy from the speaker to be directed to the room, and not have the energy moving the speaker cabinet, thus smearing the sound. Rigiid coupling to a floor, or heavy wood desk will give you the most precise sound. Get rid of rubber feet, they muddy the sound, couple the speaker to the desk, and at the proper angle so the sound is directed about ear/head level.

  4. How about raising the speakers to right level using bricks and books?

I get what you mean but pretty sure your monitors are way too high. I read in specialized books that the tweeters should be aligned to your ears and not below or above. Nice video.

  7. Hey man thank you! And why the f酶k this vid has 2:1 dislike ratio, who are those crabs who think this info is not helpful hmmmmm..

    hey man. nice vids

  14. I have an easier and simpler way to get them off the desk used some of those cheap yoga blocks there about four inches thick made out of some stiff foam.

  15. Can you please upload a video of you doing an impersonation of Dave Grohl? Lol also good video

Just cut a couple of old squash balls in half, and place under each corner of your desk speakers. :))

  17. clearly not an acoustics engineer and doesn’t know what he’s talking about

  18. Your theory sound stupid as fuck! It鈥檚 STILL ON THE FUCKING DESK! You鈥檙e so extra with this dumb shit! I know big time producers who don鈥檛 even believe in this stupid theory

question…. Ive seen some people keep them on the desk and add acoustic treatment but I’ve also seen people put them on stands behind the desk a lot is one better or give an advantage?

  20. I can see that your studio monitors and desk are too close to the wall. If you take blend distance and stereo imaging into account, then your studio monitors will never be on your desk and will always be on stands.
